Spotivity is calling all teens!

Let your voice be heard and help create the experience that matters to you when it comes to finding meaningful and fun engagement outside of school. The spotivity Street Team is made up of teen volunteers from across Chicago who actively provide insight on development of spotivity, promote the platform via specific marketing activities, and participate in strategy sessions to help create the most beneficial platform for teens possible.  You will develop leadership skills, learn to work as a team, and create a network of peers that last a lifetime.

What is the Street Team?

  2. Perks include: opportunities for special events, improvement of your resume with real-life business experience, and a lifelong network of peers and business leaders

How joining an organized Street Team can benefit you:

Are you looking for real life business experience in Chicago? Are you interested in the startup world, technology, and working with teens from all over the city? Learn what it takes to start and run a business through involvement with spotivity.

How often have you had the opportunity to rub shoulders with business leaders and learn on the spot the impact of business decisions in the real world?  As a teenager or young adult these opportunities are few and far between – mainly due to the cutthroat nature of the ramifications of decisions in real time.  But, with spotivity, we have created a path that provides a safe space for ideas to be discussed and tested – with an explicit aim of giving teens (the target audience of spotivity) agency to impact the solutions we are providing.  This work will be overseen by spotivity founder Montana Butsch and driven weekly by spotivity staff. Tasks will be fun and engaging and all conversations and meetings will be collaborative in nature.

Learn business basics and gain valuable insights into the world of startups

Spotivity founder Montana Butsch is no stranger to the world of the startup and, as a long time member of the 1871 incubator (the #1 business incubator in the world), we have access to major resources to give you valuable knowledge, insights, and connections.  The main variable that separates successful companies from those that fail to launch is hustle – and on our Street Team you will learn how to leverage this age old positive quality. You will then find ways to translate these learnings into your everyday interests at school, work, after school program and even higher education.

Help a real life company to address the needs of the core demographic – the teenager!

As a startup we learn fast, fail fast, and change quickly when needed.  This process of rapid iteration, paired with hustle, will help you understand the lifecycle we go through – and you will help us with making sure the end result is always a product that provides insane value to teenagers all across the city.

Build lasting relationships and develop confidence while working with a peer group that spreads across your city.

The Street Team is a collection of youths aged between 13 and 25 that want to play a role in a company that will have a meaningful and lasting effect for all users.  Given that we are appealing to ALL teens and young people across the city you have a great opportunity to meet peers from all walks of life and who have had different life experiences than you.  This broad collection of individuals will allow us to ask and answer a wide array of questions and allow us to learn from each other. If making new friends is your bag then you have come to the right place.

Be included in one off opportunities

As a member of the Street Team you will be asked to be part of opportunities that arise.  Recently that has led our members to be interviewed in the media, be part of a studio session on the news, be present at spotivity special events, and play a role in event execution.   It is our intent to give you as many opportunities as possible to take advantage of these events when they occur. If you’ve never been on TV or in a newspaper / magazine we hope to change that!

Why spotivity, why you, and why now?

Spotivity is built for you– the teenager.  Our goal is to get you more involved in activities. There is a lot of time to spend out of the classroom, and it can be boring and easily wasted. We also know that interests vary and confusion in finding meaningful activities is a problem.  With your help right now we can provide a much better tool. Be part of our revolution – you never know what you will learn, who you will meet, and the experiences you will have; we just know that your involvement will be fun, exciting, and open doors you never knew existed.
